This page says what The Scripture Witness (scripturewitness.com), owned by Brett James, doing business as Gospel Grain Publishing, of the State of Texas, keeps about you, why, and what you can do about it. We do not sell your information, and the site carries no advertising.

What We Keep

• Your account: your email address, your name if you give it, and your password (stored only in scrambled form by our sign-in service).
• What you save: your Questionnaire answers, notes, their history, your settings, and anything you send us through “Report a Mistake”.
• On your own device: your choices (light or dark, voice, sources, the Gospel Grain Library switch, your place in the reading) are kept in your browser’s storage, not on our servers.

Who Helps Us Run the Site

To run the site, some information passes through services that work for us: Supabase (accounts and saved answers), Netlify (hosting), Resend (sign-up and password emails), Anthropic (the AI that polishes your answers, when polishing is on, and prepares drafts), Google (fonts, and our contact email), and Esri (the map imagery). Your browser contacts some of these directly when you load a page. When paid plans open, payments will be handled by a payment processor; we will not see or keep your card number.

Your Choices

• Choose “Exactly as written” on your account page if you do not want your answers polished.
• Write to us to have your account and everything saved with it deleted.
• Clear your browser’s storage for this site to remove the choices kept on your device.

Children

Accounts are for those 13 and older; under 18 with a parent’s or guardian’s permission. If we learn an account belongs to a child under 13, we will delete it.
